Sierra Nevada Corporation Awarded $280M Contract to Provide Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft to U.S. Customs & Border Protection
SPARKS, Nev., September 16, 2016 – United States Customs and Border Protection recently awarded Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) a $280 million firm-fixed-price, contract to engineer and integrate 12 Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft.

More than a Decade of Special Mission Heritage
The Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft is a fully-certified, highly-missionized version of the Textron Aviation/ Beechcraft King Air 350CER, providing integrated multi-role special mission services to Customs and Border Protection. Capable of carrying out a wide range of missions, this twin turboprop aircraft platform leverages more than 10 years of King Air modification special mission heritage for the U.S. Army, Customs and Border Protection and other customers. SNC has more than 700,000 hours of operational experience in similar aircraft and incorporates this extensive learning into the design.
This is SNC’s second Multi-Role Enforcement Aircraft contract. Since 2009, SNC has provided 12 aircraft in support of Customs and Border Protection’s effort to replace aging twin engine C-12, PA-42, B-200 and C-404 patrol aircraft. SNC’s IMS team will continue to perform work covered by this contract from its facilities in Hagerstown, Maryland.
